Distributors / Marketplace: clean up imported product names into a readable format (per-distributor rules, preserve manual renames)
Products imported from some distributor feeds (for example Dicker Data) arrive in full uppercase with distributor abbreviations and acronyms (MS for Microsoft, NCE commitment text in the name) and unclear descriptions. These appear on quotes as-is, which looks unprofessional to end customers and is hard to read, so every product has to be renamed manually.
Desired: clean product names from distributor feeds into a readable format on import. For example convert full uppercase to title case while keeping known acronyms and model numbers intact, expand common distributor abbreviations to full names (MS to Microsoft), and optionally let the MSP set their own naming rules or a replacement list per distributor. Importantly, if a product is renamed manually that name must not be overwritten by later feed updates or re-imports. Pax8 names already come through cleaner, so the catalogue is inconsistent across distributors.

Normalizing distributor product names into readable text is a fair idea, but how to decide the correct name is not obvious and this is one request so far, so I am leaving it open for votes. There is a related card, "Rout-IT: add option to mark name as description instead of SKU", about getting a more useful product name from the distributor import. Upvoting that one helps show the demand. If more MSPs back automatic name cleanup, we will look at it.
