Dynamic Widgets
Summary
The customer wants to display conditional product widgets on the quote/storefront that automatically show or hide based on selections a customer makes. For example, if a customer selects a specific item, accessories relevant to that item should appear; if they select a different item, the widget should update to show only compatible accessories. The product does not currently support dynamic, conditional widget rendering based on customer input.
Background
When customers use the storefront to browse and select products, the current widget system displays the same static content regardless of what has been selected. A reseller wants to guide customers toward complementary or dependent products based on their choices, but has no way to automatically surface those recommendations or filter available options in real time. This forces customers to manually search for related items or requires the reseller to manually update the storefront layout for different product combinations.
What Was Investigated
Not yet investigated — further discovery needed.
The Gap
The storefront widget system lacks the ability to define conditional display rules based on customer selections. There is no mechanism to:
Trigger widget visibility or content changes when a product is added to cart or selected
Link accessories or related items to parent products and surface them automatically
Update widget content dynamically without manual intervention by the reseller
Requested Feature
Allow resellers to define rules that link accessories or related products to parent items
Display or hide widgets conditionally based on what the customer has selected or added to their cart
Update widget content in real time as customer selections change
Support this functionality in the Storefront module without requiring custom code or third-party integrations
Why This Matters
Dynamic widgets reduce friction in the customer buying journey by showing relevant products at the right time. This increases average order value through targeted upsells and cross-sells, and improves customer experience by removing the need to search for compatible accessories. Without this capability, resellers either lose sales opportunities or must manually manage storefronts for different product mixes, which doesn't scale.
Proposed Priority
Medium. This improves storefront conversion and customer experience but does not block core quoting or opportunity management workflows. It affects resellers who rely heavily on self-service storefronts to drive sales.

Conditional widgets that show or hide products based on what a customer selects in the storefront is a bigger piece of work, a rules engine on top of the current widget system. It is one request so far, so I am leaving it open for votes. There is a related card, "Conditional content based on variable values", about showing content conditionally. Upvoting that one helps show the demand for conditional display. If more resellers back selection-driven dynamic widgets, we will pick it up.
