Form design and layout options

I would like to be able to neatly design the 'form' type widget. Ideally, I’d like the option to:

• Arrange fields in columns.
• Adjust field widths individually.
• Insert additional explanatory text between fields when needed.

This would make it possible to build forms that are not only functional, but well-structured and designed too.
