Pull/update Contact info without a full sync!

Summary

When contact information (name, address, email) is updated in a connected PSA system, users must run a full system sync to pull those changes into Salesbuildr. The customer wants to refresh contact details on demand without triggering a full sync, which is time-consuming and affects the entire account.

Background

The customer's workflow: A contact is created in Autotask without an email address. The email is later added in Autotask. The user attempts to use "Fetch Updates" on the opportunity, expecting contact changes to be pulled in. When that fails, they run a full sync. They note that being able to pull individual contact updates without a full sync would be more efficient.

What Was Investigated

The "Fetch Updates" button on opportunities was tested but confirmed to only refresh opportunity data, not contact records. Full sync successfully pulled the contact changes but is an account-wide operation that should not be necessary for a single contact update.

The Gap

Salesbuildr lacks a mechanism to refresh individual contact records from the connected PSA on demand. Currently, contact changes require waiting for a scheduled sync or manually triggering a full account sync.

Requested Feature

  • Add a "Fetch Info" or "Refresh" button in the contact record view (or edit contact dialog) that pulls the latest contact details from the PSA without initiating a full sync.

  • Button should update fields including name, email, phone, address, and any other synced contact attributes.

  • Behavior should be consistent with the existing "Fetch Updates" pattern on opportunities but scoped to a single contact.

  • The action should complete quickly and show confirmation of what was refreshed.

Why This Matters

Contact information frequently changes in PSA systems between syncs. Users expect to refresh individual records on demand, as they do with opportunities. Without this, workflows are delayed and users resort to full syncs, which are operationally inefficient and can cause unnecessary system load. This affects any reseller or MSP managing contacts with frequently updated information.

Proposed Priority

Medium. Users can work around this with full syncs, but the friction is real enough that a targeted contact refresh would improve the experience and reduce support requests about sync timing.
